So do you have any tattoos?
I have three right now. Got my faovurite band Cold's spider logo on my left bicep. Plan on doing a half sleeve with their album covers dispersed around my arm and link them together with spiderwebs. On my right elbow I have an ancient Celtic cross with amazing knotwork that was done freehand, it's for my Irish heritage. On my right arm just above my bicep I have a lotus flower. That one I got because I had gotten to know my now fiance, was falling madly in love, and felt it was a blossoming more beautiful than any other.
I do plan on doing half sleeves on both arms and getting my left elbow done. I'm looking to do something for my German heritage on my left elbow. Any ideas on how to honor my German heritage are welcome. My idea right now is the current German national Coat of Arms.

I have Chinese dragons going up both upper arms. They're significant in two ways...I got them in Edinburgh, Scotland, and I lived in China for a year. I lived for about 3 months on the southern end of Loch Ness, so sometimes I call my dragons Nessie.

lordofthepiperings what part of Germany is your family from? Each province had a cool castle and heraldry. My clan is from Duderstadt and my ancestor Andreas built the city wall. A really ugly caricature of him leers from the clock tower on the odd hours. The Duderstadters loved him but the peasants (who were forced to provide him with free labor) hated him and called him Anreis. They made a ugly carving of him for the city, called Der Anreischken and the nobles retaliated by placing the caricature in the clock tower to look down on the peasnats as they worked. The peasants further retaliated by showing up an hour late so as not to be looked down upon. It is still there. I don't know If I'd get a tatoo of him because he's an ugly bastard.

I have 4 right now. You can see 2 of them in this pic - the one on my arm is the Pentecost dove with the word ARSON

and on my chest is a rubber duck. I also have a scuba diving turtle on the other side and some song lyrics on my back.

Well I had many opportunity to acquire Tattoos. Gulf of Tonkin vacation on the Intrepid - VA34.

The only thing stopped me was my Dad's reinforcement that tattoos mark you for life.He said no matter

how your life turns out, that ink spot will id you. He also said that never go to a pawn shop because of

the clientele. Now he was born in 1912 so his guidance reflected the times.

I still do not have a Tattoo and never been to a Pawn shop, yes when at 65 when i enter a store my hands goes into my pocket.

I don't mind people having Tattoos, some look good. Just hate to see a nice looking girl all Tattooed up.

Men all tatooed up-what statement are they trying to express( i am in your face and step aside?)

Maybe that this post brought back memories.or the fight i broke up last week in our quite neighborhood

by outsiders with guess--- still makes me listen hard to strange sounds.

I still would like a Tattoo of a pipe on my shoulder .

That's exactly why I have tattoos. ;) I have this fear of being left dead in a ditch and no one is able to figure out who I am. My body would be left in a cooler with other unidentified corpses. I don't think a spirit sticks around a body or anything, so I'm sure I wouldn't know but I hate to think that it would be so easy to lose something I have taken care of and lived in for over 3 decades.
My Dad hates tattoos too - and all of his kids have them. He says if I get one more, I'm going to have to buy a Harley. I told him that didn't sound like a bad idea. ;)

Cyndi,

Buy It. Rumble of the motor makes your blood pulse. Next best thin is the sound of a outboard motor.

I am quarter sleeved and chest plated, inner forearms with portraits of children, and my lower legs with a an old school pin up on one and a dragon on the other. I plan on being fully sleeved before years end and hopefully starting on a back piece. Cyndi, tats look awesome...nothing better than a tattooed woman in my humble opinion.

I have four. They are the results of being young--stupid-- and drunk! My cousin and a friend and I used to drink to much beer and tattoo each other.

I have one and it is not done it is a piece that I will slowly finish over time.... It looks done but that is the idea. Each step will make it look like a finished piece.

That koi fish looks like top-notch work. I have a tribal-style treble clef on my bicep. I'd like to one day rework it into a half-sleeve...
