Taste review of Cream Soda

The second taster from smokingpipes.com is Cream Soda, also an Altadis mix. I really wanted to like this one. I enjoy cream soda pop, and the tin note is just about that. The first few puffs however is instant white pepper, with no real vanilla taste at all. There is little bite but that pepper is always there, sort of like a carbonation on a pop but, the vanilla never makes it past the pepper. Only if you step back and suck in the room smoke can you smell it therefore get the slight taste. The room note is just that, slight vanilla. As I finished the bowl I wanted more of the vanilla and never had it realize. There is no nic hit and it burned all the way through with one light. In conclusion I wouldn't get this again but that is just me. If you enjoy pepper with no bite with just a very slight hint of vanilla, this is the one. For those of you who are thinking, Oh he just likes sweet, I also enjoy Moxie as a pop and I don't think anyone would call that sweet.

This is just a surmise on my part, but I think American style aromatics merely produce the desired room note.

OTOH, Danish and UK style aromatics - cavendish - target the smoker's taste buds; and you may have better luck with them.

By coincidence, just today I've been smoking 4noggins' Mojo and it reminded me of cream soda.

I have several Cav blends, and love them. Thanks for the noggins tip, it is on my PAD list now.

IMO 4noggins does a nice job when it comes to aromatics. I don't smoke many aros anymore but when I do their Double Fantasy is one I really enjoy.

Thanks for the review. I also love cream soda, but based on your take on this, I think I'll pass on this one. When it comes to wanting a peppery taste,I'll stick to Va/Pers, or English blends with a fair amount of Perique.

I had to look up TAD/PAD recently, and to avoid further confusion....you do mean your TAD list correct?

I received a sample of this the last time I bought some tins at a B&M. For me it actually tastes like cream soda. There is a little pepperiness but not so much as the carbonation in a soda. The amazing thing about it was the lack of any harshness. Smoking the dottle was just as mild and had the same taste as the first puff.
Usually I prefer my tobacco taste more like tobacco than soda pop. Still I thought this was good.

I'm a sucker for blends lke these...I bought some cream soda and also wanted to love it, but it tasted like nothing, it actually had a bad taste to it. I also bought peanut butter & peanut butter and chocolate and both blends didn't do much for me.
I'm going to stop buying "novelty" blends and stick with the regular ones

I don't like aromatics for the most part because of what Sj said. If I want something sweet, I go for a good Virginia. 1Q and a couple of others are exceptions IMO.

So, I had a few bowls of this left from a oz I bought and thought i'd give it another shot on the way to work. the first 1/4 of the bowl was alright, like a light vanilla/cream after that it went downhill, I begged myself to finish the bowl and to at least like it enough to finish the 3 bowls I had left. That didn't happen, when I got to work, I tossed out the remaining 3 bowls, this stuff is really bad, now my mouth and tongue are paying the price.

It is difficult for me to find an aromatic that really becomes a muct have but that said. I have found so many that I really only order a few new items that I have never sampled along with many that are proven. This was if I get something I ma nto a fan of I am still feeling good that I have so much more of the stuff that really appleas to me.
