Taste review of 2 Chocolates

The final 2 from smokingpipes.com is Altadis Classic Chocolate and Chocolate Truffle. Both are cool with no bite but also with almost no chocolate taste. The room note is all chocolate but you have to really breath it in to get the taste of it. They are not bad smokes but, I was spoiled with Georgetown P&T Chocolate Moose years ago and haven't found a better one since. Back to these two; like I said no bite, very cool and somewhat chocolate. You could smoke it for the sake of smoking all day, still getting a hint of chocolate in your mouth. The Truffle is somewhat better but it lingered with a saccharine taste for a few hours later. The tin and room note are all over chocolate and you need to keep it air tight as not to overpower your room with it, a plastic bag won't do. Overall not bad just not chocolaty enough.

While I do like the flavor of coffee in my smoke on occastion... I have never been a fan of Chocolate in my baccy.

I like Chocolate in my beer, so I figure I would be a fan of Chocolate baccy. I had a sample of Two Friends English Chocolate at the last Chicago Show. It was enjoyable, mild, not too wet. The chocolate could have been more honestly, and I normally don't go for aros, but I still was asking for a bit more. That said it's on my next Smokingpipes order. I figure that, like the ones you reviewed, at least will have a strong chocolate room note. (I couldn't tell in the show tent.) And I want to have something I know I'd enjoy and has a very pleasant room note before the holidays roll around and I know I'll be having a lot of non smokers around here.
Pipeinhand -- what did you drink while smoking? I bet a Chocolate Stout would go a long way in bringing out a few more of the chocolate flavors in the smoke.

Interesting, I do like chocolate stout. I am however addicted to coffee, and am really a snob about it, who could tell? (insert Yiddish accent). I drink coffee from my french press if I am making 1 cup but I have a Mellita carafe old school glass, not the new electric crap. It takes about 15 minutes to do a pot but you will never want for a better cup of joe. Coffee during the day smokes and just my crystal clear well water after sunset while smoking.

French Press coffee is the best....all i use my old Drip machine for anymore is to warm up the water for the press!
Coffee+Tobacco=Awesome. Try the Stout sometime tho, I think you'll be happy.....you could always get a coffee stout too! Southern Tier Java (coffee stout) ST Choklat (chocolate stout) and ST Moka (Chocolate and coffee stout) are all good choices

Yup, I think I have had every flavor stout there is. I want to chew my beer. Try an oatmeal stout sometime.

We did - and I've had plenty of oatmeals. I've had a respectable tour of stouts and porters. we can open another thread sometime to discuss our excellent taste in beer.
