It has been over a year since we had a tamper exchange, so I decided to organize another one. Like our trading forum, it is open to anyone with 100 posts and 4 months on the forum. Lets keep this to US and Canada. If anyone from elsewhere wants to participate, let me know. We can work something out.
The rules are simple. Make a tamper out of any material you want and post a picture of it on this thread. On June 13th, I will announce who will send their tamper to whom. Then you will contact the person who will receive your tamper and work out mailing specifics.
This is open to all skill levels. It is amazing what talent is on this forum. My tamper is below, made of morta.

My submission ~ TheSmokinDragon's Magnetic Cob Shank Tampers ~ Well I had to do something with all the shanks/stems, but really, these have become some of my favs to use. My pick can pick one of the designs displayed here

VERY nice tampers gentlemen! I love the creativity. I will join this exchange next round. That will give me some time to reach the needed posts. Also I need some time to come up with something even half as decent as those already posted.

YESSSS!!! I have been waiting for this to pop up again. Last year I couldn't make something in time so I wasn't included. Time to bust out those I was working on and get to it! :puffy:

winton,

Dont know for sure, I suspect oak. It's a spindle from a old chair. Copper pipe end cap glued with JB Weld and a small cork super glued.
