Alright, so this is my first actual topic post thing, or whatever you kids call it, for this website forum thing. Anyway, i'll just start and whatnot. No need for fancy introductions.
I wanted to try a bunch of tobacco because i had only smoked black cavendish until recently, so i ordered some online from pipesandcigars.com. Now, i thought that i would share with all of you a quick little review of what i bought and what i thought of what i bought......in a box with a fox......
Anyway...
Here's what i gots:
Seattle Pipe Club: Plum Pudding - I thought it was ok, but i wasn't really that impressed.
McClelland: Frog Morton's Cellar - Loved it. Probably my favorite tobacco from this purchase.
McClelland: Dark English - Also loved it. It's a really enjoyable smoke.
Peter Stokkebye: Luxury Navy Flake - Interesting. I think i like VaPers.
Peter Stokkebye: Luxury Bull's eye Flake - The Navy was better but i still liked it.
Newminster: Danish Black - Eh, overall, i wasn't that impressed with Newminster. PS is just better.
Newminster: Creamy Peaches - PS's version is miles ahead of this one.
Peter Stokkebye: Peaches and Cream - I don't know why but it's one of my favorite aros.
McClelland: Georgian Cream - McC's quality is great but the flavor was just so so.
McClelland: Strawberry Daiquiri - Kinda boring.
McClelland: McRaspberry - Good quality, but the flavor is a little weird.
Peter Stokkebye: Black Cavendish - Good times.
Missouri Meerschaum: Freehand - Awesome pipe. I really like it. Seems solid, too.
Overall, a good purchase. It gave me enough to smoke for a little while and now i know what i like and what i don't like so much. I just thought i would share my experience because that's what most folks seem to do on this forum. Y'all have fun.

It's always interesting to get another person's opinion - I had precisely the opposite reaction to PS Luxury Bullseye Flake and Luxury Navy Flake, preferring the former to the latter. Not sure if the prep method made a difference, but I will likely experiment with that sometime in the future.
Welcome to the forums!

I'll probably do another large variety order in a month or two. There's a lot of tobacco out there that needs to be smoked.

After smoking Tinderbox Wilshire (Lane 1Q) for 40 years, I decided to branch out. I did exactly what you're doing, small bulk purchases to find what I like without a lot of cash outlay.
Give Trout Stream a try.

Yeah, everyone's tastes are so different. I did a similar thing a while ago. My first bowl of Plum Pudding was an epiphany; but when I got to Froggy's Cellar I was pretty underwhelmed. It just goes to show that in the world of pipe tobacco, there is no such things as "this blend's better than that one."
