My favorite tobaccos have always been sour tasting, and slightly sweet (not bitter).
I was wondering if anyone could suggest any that match this description.

I'm not sure if this would help anyone, but the only sour tasting tobacco I've found is just a black aromatic in a jar with a house label at my local pipe shop, called "Corinthian"
Does that name mean anything to you? I've been wondering if it's just a house blend they've named themselves or what.
As far as what I like in general, just about any pipe tobacco can grow on me that isn't decidedly bitter or just plain flavorless.

I don't think I've ever experienced a "sour" tasting tobacco. Do you mean like sour apple? Sour like vinegar?

Love your avatar,

I'm not talking about the strength of sour that makes your cheeks meet in the middle, like you just bit into an under ripe lemon. And vinegar isn't entirely right, because vinegar tends to have an effect on the palette that makes you salivate.
I think sour apple is probably the closest description.
I don't think I've tried a Latakia blend. I will do a little research.

H&H Sweet and Savory kind of did that to me. Took a bit to grow on me, but seems reminiscent of what you are describing.

What you need is ripe Virginia ,Why dont you try a blend that looks golden in color ,more so than red or with red hew . Then it will be specked with black . PS Danish is sour then mix with PS Dansk Black for the sweet .http://www.peterstokkebye.com/pipe_p_bulk_sig.htm
