I am now out of 1792 Flake and I see 4noggins does not have any tins in stock. Is the Best Brown Flake similiar? If not, what would be the closest to 1792. I never smoke it as a stand alone, only as a layerer. Thanks for the help

Man I have to say that there is nothing I know of Samuel Gawith or otherwise that is similar to 1792. Best Brown is good but its not at all 1792. No topping at all, just a good grassy sweet like fresh timothy kind of Virginia flake. Sieverts doesn't have any?

If its just Lakeland strength that you want I suggest Gawith And Hoggarth Bosun Cut Plug or Gawith and Hoggarth Dark Birdseye. Bosun Cut Plug is a great tasting nicotine bomb and Dark Birdseye knocks me on my ass. Dark Birdseye has a nice thick creamy strong tobacco smoke that seems to butter the inside of your mouth while it lauches a fist full of nicotine at your head. i love the stuff but can't handle the nicotine. Makes my mouth water, gives me the hiccups and makes the room and my guts feel a little wobbly.

If you just want to try a tobacco with a good nicotine kick, try

Peterson's University Flake, or their Irish Flake. I guarantee either

one will lite your day. Irish Flake goes great with a good single malt.

Now I want some 1792 you bastards. I let my stash run out a while ago. It is one of those tobaccos that I need to be in the mood for and I smoke it in small bowls. I may have to soon replenish my high nicotine stash because this thread has got me thinking that I would love a little bowl of Dark Birdseye or 1792 or any one of the high nic tobaccos that I love but only smoke in moderation. Dark Birdseye is just pure strong friggin tobacco...it has a very very very subdued sweetness but a very very very strong tobacco flavour...it almost tastes like Copenhagen from what I remember of my dipping and chewing days.

I have some here if you want to swap or try a sample. Weather is fining off so soon time for a get together and BBQ anyway.

It doesn't have to taste like 1792 so long as it has the nic kick.
From what I understand any twist or rope tobaccos are nic bombs! Mr. Snuff carries quite a few.

I have always been curious about ropes. You'd think that after 14 years of pipe smoking I would have tried them by now. Maybe we could go splits on a little sampler of ropes nsfisher.

Good idea but I don't know what I think of ropes. Never tried any and I would use it for layering anyway.

I think there is something wrong with my head cause I only enjoy layered pipes. I know I am chawing at the bit already just waiting for that Birdseye and 5 Brothers!

While it is not 1792 (I don't know of anything with a similar topping), G&H's Dark Flake and Scented Dark Flake are along the same lines. I am not much of an expert when it comes to the super strong Lakeland blends, they are just too much for me to enjoy. I do enjoy Bosun Cut Plug and Ennerdale Flake a lot though. They don't seem to have the same nicotine punch, but flavor wise they match somewhat nicely.
