Some cancelled mission envelopes and mission patches.


T.L.: Mercury 6 envelope. First day issue, cancelled at Cape Canaveral P.O. on flight date.
T.R.: Mission patches. Of course there were no patches for Mercury. They were made later for sale at the Cape gift shop. Both of these patches went up in STS-95.
B.L.: STS - 95 envelope cancelled at Cape Kennedy P.O. on day of flight.
B.R.: STS - 95 post card, same.

The Mercury envelope was the last one in Glenn's possession, he gave it to me after the shuttle flight.

I remember growing up as a kid I lived north of Cape Canaveral and saw the Challenger explode while watching the launch from the school yard. It was a very sad day as the teacher who was on the flight had visited our school before the launch. I still have the press packet they handed out to the students. They are all very brave men and women past and present
