Striker Pipes

I was looking through some of my old Pipes and Tobacco magazines and keep seeing advertisements for Striker pipes. They are no longer in business but what's interesting was they claimed to have a draw of like 2 to 3 feet in a conventional looking/sized pipe. I can't figure out how they did it, but do have my suspicions. Anybody here own one or ever got to examine one. Just curious, I never see them for sale on Ebay. Don't know history of the company either. Please and thank you.

That's an interesting thing, isn't it? Almost every modern 'innovation' I've heard of can't ultimately match up to a piece of wood with a hole drilled through it.
