Whilst reading some reviews of Supertramp's excellent debut album of 1970 I read this very odd review....here it is in its entirety.

"Also I became classics of this genre. The beautiful Own style, didn't disregard fans, but the first album isn't similar to the subsequent masterpieces. In it for the present there is no recognizable figure. And nevertheless this album is good. In it musicians put a lot of heart and soul. It costs independently, it is melodious and beautiful. And of course will decorate your collection."

I thought perhaps the reviewer might be a non native English speaker but then wondered if it might be one of those computer generated things one reads about.

I looked up the reviewer 'Kayas' and saw another strangely worded review, this time for an album by Golden Earring....it goes thus...

"Golden Earring super group. Nearly forty years the players of group weren't changed. The talent only developed during time, since sixtieth years. But the talent was put initially and it is visible in an album Immediately. In it accretion and understanding of participants the Gold Ear ring is noticeable. 1969 gold Earrings double, LP (as republished on a 66-minute only disk) is competent granting a big variety of mountain styles of the period. It simply usually, late - the rock of the 60th, of course is more skilled, than the majority of the groups working in the non English speaking countries at that time, but not high distinction, also. It simply corresponds, without outstanding songs or separate aroma, but already with the style."

'Mountain styles', 'separate aroma', what a load of gobbledegook!

Some of the wording kind of makes sense but what strange sentence construction and word usage though very good spelling.....anyone else think this is so called AI at work?

Regards,

Jay.

My wife posts enough reviews of things on Amazon that they pay her know for reviews... and I get free stuff all the time, although they are usually things we really don't care for... "Oh look, we got a single free spoon." Ha ha.

Anyways, what this does is makes people post reviews for things without a lot of thought to them. I wouldn't give Amazon reviews much thought. If I was cranking them out, I'd probably say something even more obscure that than... "A good album, the caped crusader known as Supertramp once again save the day by defeating the evil feline villains."

What I said above leads to shite like this... ha ha.

It is kind of funny you don't recognize "mountain style" as an appropriate description of a music. Mountain style would implies that the band has a style reminiscent of the several styles of music that originated in the Appalachian Mountains of the U.S. primarily by the settlers from Scotland and Ireland.

Here's a Chinese review of Windjammer. Using Google translate to get to English.
Everything seemed to translate pretty smoothly until you get to the last two sentences. It quickly spirals into comedy.

Strength 2.6, fullness 3.5, room rhythm 3.2 The smell of tobacco is very similar to that of a whisky bottle cork. After lighting, the first thing you can feel is a strong wine smell, which is accompanied by a floral and fruity aroma. There is a slight nutty smell on the background board. Originally it was a good body sensation, but all of this was broken by the rising sweetness. The sweetness was too high and it became greasy, making people need to drink water constantly to resist the thirst caused by the sweetness. After the middle stage, although the sweetness decreases, it still maintains a high level, the aroma of the wine is still in the nose, and the main flavor is the aroma of toast. A very good work is unfortunately ruined by the sweetness of too sweet. There is also an obvious sweet aftertaste left in the mouth after smoking. This grass is more suitable for novices and... and female fighters. Welcome to station B to pay attention to "Chris hiding in the toilet bucket", which has a detailed evaluation.

nah A.I. is better at sounding sort of human. I also think this reviewer has tried to argue politics with everyone on facebook at some point. And weirdly the only thing they're clear about expressing is their rage at your stupidity for literally not knowing what they're talking about. As in you say to them "I see that you feel that way, but I literally can't decipher what you mean by saying that they're a bunch of lunch eaters and it's time juice mountain tyne. SKimBOpS.
Seriously the internet has made me wonder more times then I ever thought I would the thought "how does this person survive a world where bleach and water look the same and rocks don't have labels stating not for human consumption."

I remember a few years ago the big thing was to make reviews based on what was 'auto-suggested" for you next on your tablet. Like below, I will start with the word 'pipes' and see where it goes.

Pipes is a great forum and the guys here for a bit of a way to you are doing well.

See what I mean?

They pay you for your quantity of your reviews, not the quality, ha ha.
I am just surprised people actually read them now. Most just look to see if they have stars and how many. I wouldn't put once speck of spits value on an Amazon review.

Reminds of how years ago I got this idea that a company could work like an underwriters lab for reviews. Like a company could pay to have us rate the reviews based on certain criterias and we'd rate the reviews and also the reviewer. It was inspired in part by this restaurant review I saw that was described everything as being great but gave one star because he got dumped there. Like sorry bro not their fault taking the girl to a nice place just made he hate you more.
