Starting to Get Obsessed

I am still fairly new to pipe smoking and have started to really enjoy smoking some nice easy going aromatics such as Gawith's American Delite, Alsbo Cherry & Murray's Yachtsman in my first three pipes - a Savinelli 9mm filter bent apple, Falcon 6 mm filter straight and Petersen Killarney.
I decided to buy an estate pipe from eBay (post with pic here: Pics of DB Pipe
The Bent Design Berlin one arrived (6mm filter pipe) and I cleaned it with some pipe cleaning stuff I bought for this pipe and another Sav I bought on the same day.
I used deniclean for the bowl, and Savinelli pipe clean fluid for inside the stem. (also Sav stem polish and Briar polish for the outside) I rinsed the inside with a little water (as instructed on the sellers website) and allowed to dry for a couple of days before lighting
The draw was still very tight despite the clean and didn't get much better when I tried without the filter. I had to puff a bit harder that my others to keep it going and it started off smooth. About 15 mins in I started to get a rather burny feeling in the back of my throat and windpipe. I got a little light headed too. I stopped smoking and haven't tried the pipe again.
Has anyone had this experience or would like to venture a reason? I worry that the cleaner is in some way toxic and i didn't clean it correctly.

The only thing I could imagine is that you didn't allow it enough time to dry out before firing it up. I would have let it sit for at least 2 days before putting any tobacco through it.
