Found this strange Hecht pipe being sold under the Brulor brand, and my curiosity got the best of me.
The style is similar to a Falcon with the briar bowl screwing directly into the vulcanite stem. There is a small chamber between the bottom of the briar.
From the lip, I'm given to understand that it is from the 1930's or earlier?
Does anyone know anything about what this style of pipe is, the history of it, and how old it might be?
I can imagine that both the briar and vulcanite threads are not the most durable so perhaps this was an idea that was ahead of its time and couldn't be commercially realized until the Falcon came around later.
