Storing Tobacco

New to the game and I bought my first tin of tobacco. How do I store it? I'm an avid cigar smoker, does it need to go into the humidor?

no humidor needed, just get some canning jars

I've been using the glass kitchen storage jars (the kind that you put sugar in and such), but I really don't think they give a truly good seal. I'll probably move over to Mason jars soon.

And keep in mind that if you buy it in a tin - you don't necessarily need to move it to a mason jar. Tins keep very well.

I have been successful keeping opened 50g tins in a humidor. I keep them in a humidor for let's say 8-9 months tops. That being said, placing the contents in a mason jar is solid advice.
