I think the title pretty well says it, but I’m just loving the Luxury Twist Flake. I also tried the Bullseye and Luxury Navy from Stokkebye, but the LTF is the one I enjoy the most.

Without getting into what is in the topping exactly, are there other blends that have a similar flavor? I’m not particularly into aromatics, but this stuff has a flavor that I want more of. Where else would I find it? Other flakes? Other types of blends? Do I just need to keep smoking more of the Luxury Twist and be happy? I would appreciate any input, I tried googling this question but didn’t really find many answers.

Needs some drying time, and leaves a little cream in the bowl.

I think the Newminster is better because LTF has a slight bite that would have been a deal breaker for me in the early years. N400SNF has no bite. In the same Danish fruity topping genre is Mac Baren The Cube, with the same degree of bite as LTF but more expensive and more toppings. Exotic Passion is also in the same genre but with the toppings laid on extra thick. And if you can find some, there's Holly's Non Plus Ultra, heh.

I enjoy both Newminster 400 and PS LTF, but only now after reading this thread have I had the idea of mixing the two! I shall do so and report back soon.

This calls to mind our favorite coconut cream pie at the K&W Cafeteria now permanently closed because of the damned virus. K&W was a classic Southern cafeteria that had been open for more than 80 years. We still drink our coffee out of the commemorative mugs.

LTF is nice. I don’t think Newminster 400 is much like it, though. I don’t know of any coconut aromatics that you can add to blends as a condiment.. I’d like that myself, as I’m a coconut fan, and it might be the thing for you to look into, too.

I typically crumple and stuff Newminster 400 and fold, roll, and stuff LTF, but decided to rub out equal measures of each flake for this experiment and mixed them together. I put the blend in a jar overnight so that the moisture levels could normalize. The resulting blend was easy to smoke and tasted okay, but it was not really a synergy (i.e., I would prefer to smoke each blend individually). The problem with mixing these two blends together is that the resulting flavor profile is muted and boring; the uniqueness of the constituents is lost, especially the LTF. If somebody else wants to try this experiment, then I would recommend going 67%-75% LTF with the remaining being Newminster 400... but in the end, just enjoy each blend as it is since each is great on its own!

Stokkebye Luxury Twist Flake is a Virginia/cavendish blend with a coconut flavor.

While more aromatic than LTF, two other blends with a tasty coconut flavor are Sutliff No. 19 Coconut Almond & Peretti Blend 432
