Here is an interesting piece of Grabow history. The TR Grabow's were only made by one man at the factory in the 1960's.
An excerpt from a Grabow factory worker.

Wow, what a great job on the refurb. It looks brand new, I am amazed that it is a Dr Grabow. I never knew they made pipes like that. Anytime I picture a Grabow, it is one of those pipes I see at the drugstore in the paper and plastic container and not a one looks like that.

This is besides the point but I love Starfire pipes. I only have one in a pot shape but it is one of my prized pipes.

Thanks guys. I've wanted one in this shape for a while. They don't pop up for sale very often.
@cigmaster, the Grabows from the 1950's-1960's were top notch. Everyone I have from that era are great burners.
@newbroom, I think I get the joke. The tools in the before pictures? I use a hammer to remove 50 year old cake. I also like an open draw in my pipes. :puffy:

Everyone pretty much stated on point about the great work and on the pipe itself. According to your info. it seems to be even more collectable than I thought. Although if it wasn't I'd still love it and I'd have to say it's one of my favorite refurbs you've done. As always great work and thanks for sharing!

Mr. Fancy Pants:
Thank-you for the education concerning Mr. Wagoner and his connection to Dr. Grabow and their TR pipes. As for your restoration, you have done a yeoman's job. May this pipe smoke as good as it now looks!
