Just found out that the reason so much pipe tobbaco is bad in Pittsburgh is
that small retailers in this area buy from "Cash and Carry" Warehouses where the retaillers use as there "Wholesale Club" In the "Strip District". These warehouse stores specialize in candy, tobbaco and Sundrys that little mom & pop shops carry. Off Brand Candy and Pipe tobbaco can sit on shelves in these dusty warehouses for years before they move to the retailers where they in turn can sit for months or years. The reatalers drive down to the srip distrct to di there shopping in large shopping carts once a month and pick up stuff only as needed. Large Grocery Stores on the other hand have hot sale ladies who work for Philip Moris and restock the shelves and make sure the product is fresh as well as jockey for disply space. Pipe tobbaco people dont have salespeople and the journey can be hurry up and wait. We need dates on our pipe tobbaco and we need to demand them now! Rule of thumb if you get stale candy bars dont buy cigs or pipe tobbaco
