I've read a few of the resources posted on the forums about restoring pipes, but I haven't found any that mention restaining them, for instance if you accidentally remove the finish with your alcohol cleaning solution. Is it regular Minwax stain or something specially formulated to be burned right next to your nose?
Thanks.

Minwax and that type of oil based stain work , but not great they take forever to gas off the stink. Scroll down here to finishing supplies . Alcohol stains are great!

I use powerdered spirit soluble wood dye's. They are very easy to mix up yourself and you can adjust the colouring by increasing the amount of powder to spirit (alcohol). If too much dye increase alcohol.

Pre-mixed woodstains are OK but limit you to one shade only and work out quite expensive.

Unclearthur, that link is great. Thanks for that...Any idea where to buy shank brushes? All of the B&Ms near me (that I've seen) are garbage. I thought about using a gun cleaning brush, but wasn't sure if the bristles would be too stiff/harsh.

Most online tobacco shops carry shank brushes. Scroll down to near the bottom.
