Special care required??

I just purchased a calabash pipe with a removable porcelain bowl. I was wondering if their was anything I should know about the care and maintenance of this type of bowl. Thanks ::

Are you sure that it is porcelain? Yes, some calabashes have it but it could be meerschaum. Got any pics? That may help those members who have such pipes. I've wanted one but there are others I'd rather have first (2011 Peterson's POTY, anyone?).
