Even if they do, history has proven that it will taste different. Best you can hope for is that it is 'a little' different and still is amazing. But, that has most often not been the case. I stocked up, but I wish I could have gotten more. SPC blends will be missed.
Really crazy to think Plum Pudding will probably become the new Frog Morton

Today on P&C a 2 oz tin is $10.28 an oz. So, yes, $6.50 an oz is a sale. I dread to think what they will be asking for Plum Pudding at pipe shows 5 years from now.View attachment 373034
This is the correct thread for this post:

Up until Feb 5th (when I made my order), there was a battle of the blends option on P&C where you got a tin of Plum Pudding and a tin of Bengal Slices for $27.99. $13.50 per tin was a decent option so I got 10 pairs. I just looked and all the good battle options are gone now. But this is close to the sale price in those 8oz ones now.

I went to some lengths to get PP. It was not the reserve. While its pretty good I found it a bit underwhelming and feel there are many superior blends, especially for the premium price they ask. If the reserve is better my thinking is they should have just made that blend. Ive never been one to suscribe to selling a lesser product if you have the ability to make it better.

I felt dirty paying $13.50/ tin for the regular. No way in Hell I was paying for the reserve. I really like the regular, anyway. Truth be told, Plum Pudding has about as many fans as Frog did *before it was announced it was going away* so it is anyone's guess what will happen if ole Mr. Guss can't find a new blender and this goes extinct.

@wyfbane I realize folks like it and I dont blame them...I just didnt find it unreplacable or especially unique. To me it was a little flat but everyone is different.

We cant buy bulk over here so 13.50 a tin is the average rate and there is no such thing as a tobacco sale.

Understood. But there were people who didn't swoon over Frog either, until it was gone.

And the average price of regular Plum Pudding tins is between $20 and $25 US when it is not on sale. I remember when you could get them for $10 all day. I would never pay full rate for them. If you can get SPC tobacco there for $13.50/ tin, you should buy all you can. It will be good trading stock once it's gone.

And there are others I would conisder on equal footing with PP

Those come to mind. Im not saying PP is bad. Its just that for me it doesnt stand out about other lat blends
