I don't like sales or discounts. Makes me feel like a cheapo. I prefer to pay full price.

I opt for the sitewide sales that usually come about in proximity to major holidays. I find those to be better than the sales off of individual blenders. For example, the 25% off Ashton blends sale that happened last month seemed to be relative to the MSRP, rather than SP's usual price. Compared to the prices of these blends after the sale, I'd have only been saving about 60 cents per tin, and that's just not enough to go TAD crazy over. Whereas a 10% or 15% off sitewide is most definitely all the excuse I need to go hog wild! These appear to be where the really good savings are.

I usually stock up when the 5 pound bags of McClelland are on sale for $125.
Did you get any of the drop last week? I just got in but it was crash crash crash and then a little luck, 2 bag per day but 10lbs will be nice in the cellar.

I prefer the 50% off all pipe cleaners sale. Love to stock up for my arts & crafts.
I also wait for the sitewide sales as it gives more latitude. However, I watch my regular rotation at several sites.
I wait for the C&D 15% off bulk sales and load the fuckin’ boat.
I hit the C&D, Macbaren and Low Country sales pretty hard.
I'm waiting for the Drucquer sale. Easier to justify loading up on those pricy 100 & 200g tins!

I never feel too concerned about it. Sales are nice but I don't ever feel put out by the price on pipe tobacco and it helps that hate tins and love bulk.
