Damn man! I have been having the best smokes lately!
Sometimes I smoke when I am working and it is enjoyable.
Lately though, I have been having a pipe late at night, 11 pm - 1 am, and reading a good book.
I am more relaxed. I smoke slower because I am relaxed, it is quiet, and I am engrossed in a great story.
The pipe lasts twice as long, smokes cooler and each puff feels like a cloud of marshmellows, and tastes like heaven.
I have also been enjoying the most amazing house blends from Bennington Tobacconists.
There are two English blends they have that are just killer. They have been in business since 1965 and they really know their stuff.
I heartily recommend the #10 & #15.

Nice pipe Kev. No matter how bad of a day I had or how much stress I have going on in my life, whenever I fire up a bowl everything is forgotten and you have a mini vacation from reality for an hour. All your troubles seem to subside and there is nothing else in the world besides your pipe and lady nicotene. Ahhh may I have this dance me lady?

Thanks Kevin, for reminding me how much I enjoy this pastime of ours.

I was sorting through my pipes today when I came upon an old friend I haven't spent any time with in I don't know how long.
It was a Savinelli Giubileo D'Oro, shape 606, size EX. It used to be one of my favorite pipes. I haven't taken it out in years, mostly because I have prefered smaller pipes lately. I bought this one back when I liked the larger sizes. It is at least a size 6, maybe larger.

I took it up and palmed it over and over, remembering how much pleasure it used to give me.

I sat in my leather recliner this afternoon and filled it up with some Commonwealth.

Lighted up and sat back for an enjoyable time.

To say that smoking that pipe was a rush is an understatement. I enjoyed taking long sips on it, and it just seemed to last and last.

Not hardly a gurgle one. I think I used a half of a cleaner on the whole bowl.

Clouds of delicious smoke filled the room. The afternoon sun was coming through the blinds just so. I could have been in heaven and not been any more relaxed or happy.

I had not a care in the world for almost an hour.

There's an old saying that some people are dead before they are born. They take life so seriously they find no joy in anything about them.

Thats what I think the anti's are like. They have no earthly idea what they are missing by not taking up the pipe. I pity them.
I am going to have to go back though my seldom used friends, and re-aquaint myself I think. This has been a good day.

Great post Max! My smoking time (pipes or cigars) is all about me and there is nothing better than ending the day with your favorite blend. Actually I take that back, there is one thing better. And that is STARTING the day with your favorite blend.
