Target for 2024 a 20 pack cigarettes will be 10 euros overhere, so taxes will rise also for other tobacco. I'm fearing for 2023; online sales will be prohibited and other countries might do the same. I order most of my pipetobacco in Germany. The variety of pipe tobacco sold here is very slim comparing to Germany and compared to Germany is very expensive, sometimes almost double the price. It's not a volume thing, as in NL and DE prices are federal regulated, differences in prices between states or even cities are not allowed. Tax stickers on the tins or pouches determine the price.

Gulp.

I think our (Australia) last increase was 20%, as part of a ten year annual increase, approx 5-10% each year.
I'm too lazy to google this but it is pretty close I think.

I guess what I'm saying is, don't stop hoarding, I mean cellaring.

Sorry John, didn't mean to distract from your thread - I guess when there is talk of tax increases, Aussie and Kiwis are quick to highlight the possible outcomes of government actions etc.

All those tins of Capstan you are buying are saving you a fortune already!

Next month I am going to place an important order of tobacco. In my neighborhood tobacconist and also in Esterval..............Before between 2022. I do not want to risk more and in the future have to pay triple for a damn tin of tobacco. It is more than evident that in Europe the next few years will be a disaster.

Thanks for the information friend. And I'm very sorry that in your country they make those policies to pipe tobacco. Before the end of the year I'm going to try to store 500 or 600 tin of capstan, Blue and Gold. the price here is unbeatable. 7.50 euros.

It may be a good investment or retirement plan those 500-600 tins!

I'm fortunate enough to have 2 orders make it here from 4noggins, will keep doing that till caught, I've saved literally hundreds of dollars with only about 16 ounces worth of tobacco so far.

Your neighbourhood tobacconist must get very excited every time you walk through the door!

It is the only way to save hundreds of dollars or euros. I'm happy for you too. It is true that the neighborhood tobacconist, It's like a toy store for a child. When I see so much variety of good tobacco, it gives me anxiety, severe sweating and paleness and metabolic revolution.................?

Yeah, it's been hell in this country (USA) since 2008, but not due to tobacco price x) A pack of cig is still around $6.50US here. Relatively affordable. But did notice some increase on pipe tobacco. Inflation is going crazy and cargo delay. And we don't have energy independence any longer. And not due to lack of resources.

We are in a tough spot, no doubt. We got the Nazis who want to eliminate it all together, Congress who increase taxes without fear of a voter revolt, and the FDA which has totally lost its mind with its senseless regulation.
