For the 2nd day in a row, a head shop has submitted their store listing to our Pipe Store Locator. I finally decided it would be worth my time to email him and explain that our directory is for traditional tobacconists that sell briar and meerschaum pipes that people smoke pipe tobacco in. Well I knew a guy back in the 90's who only smoked meerschaum pipes. He did not smoke tobacco at all. He spent about $600 a month on pot and that was when it was quite a bit cheeper! 8O even by Northern California standards he smoked a lot of weed! I do not think I ever saw him sober?

Good for you Kevin! When I went looking for my first pipe I went to 2 stores that both had the word "Pipes" in the title. Neither of them had a piece of cob, briar, or meer in them at all. Hate to see others waste their time like that too.

When I lived in Wichita Falls, the only shop to purchase pipe tobacco in was called " High Flier". They had a row of tobacco jars like any traditional B&M, and sold some briars and meers as well, but The majority of the store was dedicated to Spencer's like gifts and tee shirts. I do not know what brand of tobacco they sold, but it was good stuff. 8)

All the local head shops here sell mini meerschaum figurals for weed. And usually some mini MM cobs too.
While I'm in no way against it, I can't stand that every time I see a "pipe shop" or "cigar shop" or "tobacco shop" it consists of 2 mini cobs, 1 meerschaum, some crappy cherry wood chunks, and then a million and one bongs and glass pipes... Of course they are a tobacco shop though right? I mean, they sell American Spirits and Black and Milds in one tiny corner behind the counter. :crazy:
