This is my latest find my Dunhill patent Tanshell Canadian. I have been told that this is a rare bird, as it may be Algerian Briar from 1952, it is due out for a fluff and buff.

Those are some great finds for under 10 bucks. I really like the way the Comoy looks. Can't wait to see the pics of them after they have been cleaned up.

A local antique store that rents booths to dealers. It is really an high priced junk store, this one booth had probably 30 pipes stuffed on pipe racks and shoved in 2 corners. The light is poor so I would grab on and try to see a mark or identifing stamp. I end up walking over to a table lamp and to get a better look. There are a buch of junkers. I swore I picked up everyone and gave them a good going over the first visit. Then each time I visit I will find another and say this wasn't here the last time. Lots of old Dr Graybow, some have cracked bowls, Still there are several I have told myself that I need to get but I have to balance my Pipe and tobacco acqusitions.
All need serious TLC. Many have cake so thick one would have to use a pencil to tamp with. I tell myself these must have been favorites and make a mental note to pick one up. But Once there I find one that pops out and says buy me instead. That is what happend with the Tanshell. There is an Ardor somewhere in those pipes that I put back and was looking for it to buy. I told myself only one pipe as I was buying a vintage DE razor too. As I was going over the pipes and spied that Dunhill dot, my blood raced, and I walked away leaving the Ardor for another day.
These pipes seem forgotten and like I said shoved into corners of the booth. I did notice that there were new tags on some pipes that I hadn't seen before so the owner must be restocking When I see one I want to get a better look at I will place it on the stands located on the floor and place it on the backside of the rack lol so if someone wants it they have to really dig.

Nice pipes. I guess it pays to get off e-Bay and go out hunting in person.

With all due respect to Dunhill lovers everywhere, I think the Ardor would

have been a better grab; but hopefully it will still be available for you.

I stopped to look and find the Ardor and there was not one. The one I thought was the Ardor was something generic. The only standouts were several 4 digit Kaywoodies and a Brebbia.
