I am curious about Solani Red Label. It says single malt scotch, which I love, but then it says tropical flavor.... Is it both? Can anyone comment on this who has smoked it?

I have a tin or two socked away, but I've never tried it myself. That said, your post reminded me of a couple tins of Solani - 639: Tropical Mango Flake that I've been meaning to try.

It's been awhile since I smoked through my last tin of Solani Red Label. I too was intrigued by the mention of scotch. I think maybe the person blending it could have been drinking scotch, but it did not come through at all for me. I don't recall it being overly tropical either. I know, not answering your question. I did find it a crowd pleasing enjoyable aromatic. I bought more tins after I finished it if that helps. It is a blend I intend to repeat. Perhaps if I revisit it I would have a different impression as I have many more tins behind me since I smoked the Red Label.
Again, I read in the description of Ashton's Rainy Day of tropical flavors!!! Dammit all lol... I just want a good blend with the flavor of scotch, nothing else. Thank you though
I see. Well from my experience alcohol in pipe tobacco doesn't taste like it does in a glass. You can always add it to what ever blend you feel like doing it too. My suggestion is a untopped VaBur but that's just what I think it would go best with. The closest I've gotten to having a whiskey flavored tobacco (that tastes more like it does in a glass) is to use the alcohol to do a thorough cleaning of a pipe and then to smoke out of that pipe the next day. So maybe diy is the way to go.
That's a good idea. I've done a bit of blending and pressing myself and I didn't think of adding my own topping. I have some excellent McClelland's Single Malt Highland Scotch I could use. I'll try it in the pipe too. Thanks for the tip
hardest part is getting the amount right. Start small as it's easier to add then subtract when blending.
What kind of scotch flavor are you looking for? An Islay would be substantially different than say a Speyside (non peated). Perhaps there are blends that would scratch your itch even if they don't list scotch as an ingredient.
Definitely want the scotch flavor, doesn't have to be a specific region, that's probably asking too much lol. I might try my hand at flavoring something myself. I think it would be good to add to an English, perhaps C&D stratforshire, with that Cavendish element. On another note, anything with a decent (but not goopy and overpowering) whiskey flavor would be nice
