So for those of you following the Soapy Pipe episode number I; When I first got the pipe I was so excited I handed my daughter the box and she said it was wet on the inside. I ignored her, and couldnt wait to smoke my new pipe. She wouldn't stop, and kept saying how can it be wet inside and not outside, where as I replied; I don't know, who cares throw it away! I looked inside and saw a bowl that was so clean. I was shocked, as this pipe I've been told by someone here predates to post WW1 pre WW2. After 1 puff I almost puked on bleach. I came here complaining in part 1 of Soapy Pipe. I decided to contact the seller who accused ME of bleaching it and refused me a refund. Ebay is now involved as both me and the seller have contacted Ebay.
I believe the seller, who sells a few other vintage items not pipe related, is not a pipe smoker and simply didn't know any better. I did not pay much for this pipe to be honest. I am however angry that someone would blame me for their mistake, and not refund me. More than the money, its about doing the right thing! I would! I may end up eating this, and I'll never sell the pipe, as it is unsmokeable. I also am not going to throw away the history because I have too much respect for the pipe. But thats where we are with what should have been titled the "Doing The Right Thing".
