EDIT : Fixed Capitalization in Title ( See Rule 9 )

Lately, I dislike any pipes that have metal within the delivery system(non removable stingers), pipes that come pretreated with coatings, high-gloss exterior finishes
You don't have to mention why but it would be interesting to know reasons from smoking experience, cleaning etc...
Anything from bits to bone screws meerschaum to mortises - So, what is a no go for you?

Stems not built properly. I can over look this in a lot of cases since I'm more of less focused on stummel and the grain, but last few Peterson pipes had really bent stems. Planning to send them in. Love the stummels and grains so sort of worried about sending in and have it screwed even more.

Things I don't accept are Dublins or bulldogs with cylindrical chambers rather than conical chambers. Leaves too little material at the bottom. Then again, not that much of a fan of Dublins or bulldogs.

Too tight draw. Draw should be effortless.

Don't care about the pipe cleaner test. Many bents that smoke perfectly well won't pass that test.

I'm not a big fan of stingers. On the other hand, Scottie Piersel's steel lined airways are brilliant. They're easy to keep clean, don't clog up, and provide a seamless neutral airway from the chamber to the slot.

When it comes to artisan made pipes, I prefer makers who have established an instantly recognizable personal style. Warmed over Danish leaves me cold.

Don't like thick clunky bits, buttons, and bite zones.

Don't like low profile buttons. Why bother?

If the pipe is too heavy (>1.5 oz), too short (<5.0 inches), or chamber is too small (<.75x1.5 inches), then it just doesn't get smoked no matter how interesting the shape or the grain of the briar.
