I have read that we all dream every night. If that is true, I never remember my dreams, except maybe once or twice a year, and only vaguely at that.
I remember the last part of my dreams just before I awoke. Somebody had a bunch of snakes that I was given the responsibility of getting them from one house to another one down the block. I was carrying them out and they were getting away ... lots of small snakes, maybe like the size of large worms, but they were snakes.
I was chasing (not running) after them picking them up, sometimes handfuls at a time, and other times one at a time. I was making some progress down the sidewalk, but kept having them slip through my fingers, and having to repeatedly chase after them and pick them up.
I was Googling to find out what this means, but was unsuccessful. I found a lot of meanings of snakes in dreams, but none of the dreams matched this one.
Any ideas?

Nope, but I believe most of the dream interpreting is pretty arbitrary anyway.
It's your brain processing the previous day's experiences and probably a great deal of random on top of that. You said you kept having them slip through your fingers? Maybe you let your snake run through your fingers a few times too many during the day? :P

Dreams, i hate dreams they are sad or scary and most times don't make a bit of sence.

chero: I agree. Most of the times I remember my dreams they leave me with a very bad aftertaste :/ I think I mostly just remember relatively bad dreams though, because they cause a faster awakening and in the middle of the REM sleep = easier to remember the dream. I really wonder what the dreams you don't remember are about, they could be awesome for all we know.
I actually tried accomplishing lucid dreaming once and it led to me remembering more of my dreams and some were kinda neat actually (but still freakishly weird), especially when I first achieved lucid dreaming.

Freud had a lot to say about the meaning behind dreams. Unfortunately it was 80% drivel and 20% horse hockey! Jung was almost as accurate as his teacher.

I like Fox Mulder's view on dreams. Dreams are the answers to questions we haven't yet figured out how to ask.
Works for me!

Love the Pee Wee Herman animation Jeremiah!
It was kind of like that. I went to see that movie with a bunch of friends when it came out and I was the only one laughing through the whole thing.

I dreamed once that I was being suffocated by a giant constrictor, only to wake up to find I had rolled the top of the blankets into a roll about 5" in diameter, and that roll was resting across my neck. Scared the Sh$% out of me!

As grandad used to say, "Better snakes in your dreams than snakes on your plane". Wait.........maybe that was Samuel L Jackson. 8O

You have lots of small responsibilites bound up in one big over-arching responsibility/job. You're worried, or think that in the persuit of this big one, all the little ones will get lost or become so out of your control that even if you get them back on track, they soon escape again.
Or, your worried that the little things will escape you against the big picture. Like being worried about family time, against the big picture of Work and so on.
