Altadis sent me a tin of Maple Street tobacco for the free sample. My wife would not let me know what I received until yesterday. Based off several review, it taste like maple syrup on pancakes. Thus I decided to make a pipe shaped like a stack of pancakes to smoke this tobacco in.

That's quite the Pipe Winton! Would you tell us more about it,

like what it's made of and where it came from? Thanks.

The stem is part of my Christmas gift. The bowl and wooden stem are out of soft maple. I don't have any sugar maple wood, which produces maple syrup. The turning is fairly basic. Fitting the parts took more effort. Next time will be easier of course. I like the idea of matching the pipe to the tobacco. The wood is basically free and the work is relaxing. I will try smoking it later.

That would take some thought. Mudpie shaped pipe???? I just started smoking, so I have not worked up to strong tobacco like that one. I am experimenting with the aromatics.

You should try Just For Him's Morning Coffee along with it.

Delicious! One of the only aromatics I smoke.

I like it. Sorta like people who look like their pets: pipes that resemble the tobacco inside.

Today I tried the new pipe and Maple Street tobacco. This is the first time I have ever smoked all the way to the bottom. It smoked really good. I enjoyed the tobacco also. It was mild and pleasing to me. I am too new to the pipe to really have a valid opinion. I could not detect any maple flavor over the tobacco flavor. My asmatic wife did not mind the scent of the smoke, when I was briefly near her. But any smoke is very bad for her. Thus interpret this as a pleasing room note.
Now I have to work on a pipe for a triple cherry blend I bought at my local B&M. I started work on some cherry blanks. I also have ideas for a swamp / biyou themed pipe. The challenge intrigued me. I need some tobacco to go with that pipe.
