I just read the OP, and remarked to myself "he's talking about me!" I can assure that it is mold, but until I see a persuasive post proclaiming danger, I will continue to ignore it. I should specify here that it didn't occur with every can, it occurred only weeks after opening, and the cans are stored in a dry place. I only handle the edge I break off (little or no finger derived contamination). My mentioning this at all was to prepare others to an identified ideosyncracy confirmed by other consumers in internet postings. I did not personally contact the Mfr. as someone else already had.
I will watch this thread for other inputs.....
