Smoke detector problems...

I am starting to have problems with my smoke detector. I'm not referring to the little chirpy things that hang from the ceiling, I'm talking about the WIFE. I started smoking a pipe a few weeks back. At the time, the weather was great, but sadly the temps are dropping below what is enjoyable for smoking. So, over the last week, I have been SLOWLY migrating into the house. She has no concept of the different blends I am trying , but so far, Butternut Burley (and maybe Trout Stream) are the only ones that are remotely passing the test. Forget non aros. EPIC FAIL trying those out inside (FVF & ABF went down hard, even though I prefer their room note).
What are you fellas getting away with at home (or are you?)? And at what point do I have to decide wife or pipe? Lol

I used to smoke in the house but my wife developed COPD so that changed things here. When the weather turns too cold to be outside I go to the garage. Got my chair, satellite radio and laptop and a ceramic heater for the real cold stuff. Of course, there are the several days a week that I go to the B&M for 3-4 hours.

Can't get rid of the wife. Who would cook, clean and do the laundry?(She doesn't read this stuff)

I keep it to one room and ventilate it as best as possible. I prefer aromatics, but when I want to branch out with non-aros I make sure to be alone for awhile in the house to best air it out. This applies to wintertime too, I always stay inside but the window gets opened to air out so again I make sure I'm alone for long enough to clear the air then warm up the house again.
My wife has never asked me to do these things, and she also has never complained, so it works for me. YMMV.

My daughters don't care for certain blends so when they are here I will smoke my Boswell aromatics more often. They actually love the smell. The ones I stock are Berry Cobbler, Pennsylvania Dutch Treat, Christmas Cookie and Rasberry Cream. If you cannot get away with those, I suggest dedicating one room, and buy a commercial grade ozinator, that will get rid of any smell.

Wife don't care, once in awhile she will say "what are you smoking?" She has never been a smoker but she doesn't mind if I smoke in the house. If I am smoking in the car, window must be open though.

It is a no bitching zone.

I don't smoke anywhere else in the house, save my bathroom.

I occasionally get a scrunched up nose and a frown with a "You're smoking that stinky stuff again" but that's it.

She's just telling me something I'm already aware of. :D

I smoke inside, wife smokes nails and a pipe once in a blue moon. So no issues, it does require a strict cleaning regiment however.

Thanks for the input guys. Now, where to find a pipe smoking wife! Lol
I think a smoking room with the air purifier is the way to go. As well as adding a few more aro blends. The purifier should also help when I head into the danger zone with my non aro baccy.

Six, it looks as if you have found a good ozone machine for a decent price. Should do the job on a fairly large area. Could solve a lot of issues. Let us know how its doin.

Can't wait to hear how that machine works! My wife doesn't as much complain about the smell, says it gives her a headache, I fear I may be out of luck to ever smoke inside.
