O.K. I Bought an estate pipe some time ago I reamed it down to the wood and cleaned it for days including the salt cleanse. Since the day I got it it had a very sweet smell It even transfers to your hand and kind of sticks in there to what the heck is it and how do I rid myself of its evilness.

Smoke Virginias in it, and see if you can taste anything weird. I am guessing the last owner smoked the same tobac out of it all the time. You got the forever ghost.
Have you tried cleaning it with just alcohol?

Do the salt cleanse until it doesnt come out brown anymore, and use a extra thick pipe cleaner with alcohol in the shank and stem until that doesnt come out brown. Then smoke some PA for a few bowls and it should be good

+ 1 on Jchaplick's advice. Though Carter Hall is a good one too.

If the pipe itself is the culprit you may want to send it off to Walker Briar works so they can put it in their ozone tank for a few days. I've yet to try it but I've heard really good things...
