Similar to Orlik Gold Sliced/Pure Virginia Blends

I posted a thread a while back about how Virginia tobaccos and I werent really getting along. Then I remembered that I had a tin of Orlik Gold Sliced that had been opened long ago, and thought what the hell. At the suggestion of some of the forum members here, I packed a little looser, lit a little less aggressively, puffed a little slower, and before I knew it, I finally understood what Orlik was supposed to taste like. I have really acquired a taste for the stuff, and I was wondering if anyone here knew of something that was similar in taste to Orlik or just a good, pure Virginia blend. No latakia or burley or anything else, just pure Virginia. I just ordered some MacBaren HH Mature Virginia, Golden No. 1, and some McClelland Dark Star. Any other recommendations would be most appreciated. My only other criteria is that I cannot do Virginia by Cornell and Diehl. Something about their Virginias just doesnt agree with my chemistry.

SG FVF is a great Virginia flake if you can get it where you live. If you're also interested in VaPers I can suggest SG St. James Flake and Dunhill De Luxe Navy Rolls.

Rattray's Marlin Flake or Brown Clunee might be worth you trying.

I always found Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake to be a bit similar to Orlik.

And its really reasonably priced in bulk.

Lonestar, I have also heard others talk highly of Luxury Navy Flake. Might have to give that a go as well. Anyone know of any other McClelland Virginias that are worth trying? I loves me some McClelland.

I bought some OGS a few months ago, and packed the pipe by rubbing it out. I didn't really enjoy the flavor or the smoke so much, so jarred it. Lately, I've started just folding the slices which to me completely changes the flavor and how it smokes.

I concur on Dunhill Flake. Hamborger Veermaster is another mild flake in the Orlik style.
