Cortez,

While I don't have it just yet (it's across the pond and I just paid for it) I do have a reamer in my collection that is exactly like this only it's steel and not silver. I imagine being silver it would have to be used to simply straighten a cake rather than doing a heavy reaming job like a Reem-N-Clean would be used for. I plan to use this on my Meerschaum's, clays and porcelain pipes and perhaps my Morta pipes as well since cake buildup is not a positive thing and the silver won't damage the inside wall.

Wow that is a nice 100+ year old piece of functional silver, banjo. Really cool stuff, sounds like you are quite the collector.

layinpipe,

Some day I have to take photos of my lighter and pipe tool collection, seems like I take photos of the pipes but let everything else slip by......... I love old usable, and functional, equipment.

That is a very nice piece, fish. I really like that it has personality, not just a purpose. Enjoy that well!

Nice score!!! As a silversmith, I suggest letting it tarnish and not over-doing the polishing. It will last for many more years without wearing it away. Plus, the tarnish can add to that antique look. The oils from you skin should be all that protects the metal. So, use it often.
