In 2008-2009 I was really just getting into ebay pipe buying. I found this little pipe for $24 shipped.
Its pretty small, not very pretty, but it is very well made.
It has a Delrin stem, yep, Delrin. It doesn't shine very well, but it's as comfortable as Vulcanite, but doesn't oxidize like Vulcanite.
Here's the best part. It is the first pipe sold by Jean Du Toit of Pietenpauw pipes. Nobody on the old Smokers Forums had ever heard of him. Now hes pretty well known for budget friendly pipes of excellent quality. As far as I know, him and his son are still pumping out pipes, and taking commissions. I got to know him, hes a great guy.
This is the pipe that made it from SA to NYS in 48 hours.
