I’d rather not include Bones or Workshop pipes… just the one-off, handmade pipes from Chris Morgan.
I’ve not personally seen a TON of his pipes, though when I do it seems he has a very unique approach to shaping, and an almost unconventional feel for grain. Although orientation is standard (cutting for straight grain or cross grain with a premium on Birdseye), he will often choose to highlight imperfect “moments” in the grain on smooth finished pipes.
I think both of my Morgans highlight this feature.
The copy from the retail ad of my first Chris Morgan read, “Chris made a point of pointing out that this little guy needs more explanation. Made from a very special block of briar it is completely flawless to a microscopic level and may be the most unique piece of wood that Chris admits to have ever worked with. Due to unknown factors, this block was cut from a possibly deformed burl. The shank exhibits quilted grain which is exceptionally rare. The bowl proudly displays microscopic angel hair grain encapsulated within larger swaths of visible wavy rings and ghostly straight grain - all while glowing in iridescence. “

This little saddle billiard is a sitter too! I’ve had it for about two years and it’s one of my favorite smokes.
It’s darkened up nicely, so any iridescent glow it may have had has dissipated lol

My newest Morgan arrived today.
I don’t know about his stamp and stem logos, but I think this one is older than the above pipe.
About a 5/8 bent billiard.. a tall billiard. Stem has a gold dot and is marvelously thin. I didn’t notice in the retail pics, but the stem is actually a very dark blue brindled ebonite. Cool!

So, whatcha got?
