We all have those items that go with us everywhere, our essential basic tools for surviving the daily grind.

I thought it might be fun to compare and discuss our daily survival kits!
I service and maintain a commercial rental tool and small engine fleet, so the Leatherman is my most important tool thus far, besides the pipe!

Edit: Can't fix the pic... I get "Page Not Found". Sorry, L.

Depending on the weather, the lenght of time I plan to stay ashore, and the distance I need to row, I may take some or all of the following:
wallet, with ID and boater's safety card

pipe bag

...2 pipes

...2 pouches of tobacco

...pipe cleaners

...pipe tool

...lighter and matches

life jacket (safety first)

air horn

compass

GPS

flashlight (ever try messing with a combination lock after dark?)

VHF or handhled ham radio

cell phone (with a charging cable)

reading glasses (the joys of growing old)

leatherman (in case I need to mess with the outboard)

ebook

notepad computer (to keep in touch with you guys)

laundry

empty grocery bag

binocular

camera (I know how much you guys love pics)

sunglasses

water bottle

lunch (or some money if I'm at a town with a deli or restaurant)

extra jacket

shower bag

car key and PO Box key (if I'm headed to Keyport)

mp3 player

garbage (it has got to get off the boat)

tin whistle (and ukulele if I'm not carrying too much other stuff)

waterproofs (even if it is not raining, if the wind picks up I can end up soaked to the skin by the time I get back to the boat)

paper and pencil (in case the urge to write a letter strikes)
I put all this stuff in bags within bags within bags. Is it any wonder I love to just stay on the boat?
Oops, did I remember my sunscreen? I think I may have forgot my pants, too. I always forget something.

Not too much items

1. Wallet with IDs, credit cards, insurance cards, so on

2. My mate mobile (Samsung Galaxy Note)...it is a wonderful device :)

3. Key chain with two USB thumb drives

4. Pipe pouch (2 pipes, pipe tools, Promethes lighter, pipe cleaners, pipe filters, extra two flints)

5. 2 tobacco pouchs (mainly CB round taste additionaly borkum riff or davidoff)

6. one clenched pipe between jaws or in hand
I always try to reduce items I carry, so, in office I have 5 different kinds of baccy, pipe cleaners and filters, 2 sets of pipe tools, even charging and data cable for mobile. In car I have also pipe tools and rescue cleaners. I think if wife allows me to keep pipe tools and ashtray in the bathroom I will hang a small rack there and keep complete set

Wallet, keys, Kershaw folding knife, Swiss Army Knife clipped to my hip, phone, ball cap, flannel shirt (even in the summer months), pipe pouch (its a 5 pipe carrying pouch with a nice little roll up tobacco pouch and a place for a lighter, cleaners, tamper, reamer, and so on), and a can of baccy.

Typically, if we're going out and about, I have of course my wallet with the usual items in there, my smartphone, which I normally just use as a phone and not much else, except to play Tichu, my keys, a pipe already loaded and ready to smoke, my pipe Zippo, a pipe nail, and last but not least, my gun. I feel naked without my gun.

I work in the mortgage industry but will give a small example of my daily carry around items.

Of coarse the wallet and car/ house keys. My over oiled gerber ez out (I can flick my wrist and the blade flips right out like a switch blade).

In my satchel/ brief case. 7 pipes all but one is changed out every day the meer gets over used. About 10 baggies of different tobaccos (working in an office building you get a small break every now and then, got to have choices) pipe cleaners are on the desk at work as well as a pipe tool and lighter same with the car and back ups in the satchel. My 38 snub wich has to stay in the glove box when I go into work. Office policy no hand guns. My smart phone. Pen, pencil, kendle, wedding band, watch, knee brace (high school basket ball injury)

I always have a laptop bag with me so I carry quite a bit. Keys, checkbook (I use it for a wallet), four to six knives (usually Cold Steel and Ka-Bars), two or three pipes, baccy, matches, all my computer tools and spare parts, two flashlights, pens and pencils, notebook, when my brother-in-law doesn't have it a Taurus 7-shot .357 Magnum with four speedloaders, and a loose Pentium 4 CPU, so when people ask me how come their computer broke, I can say that while a Nimitz class aircraft carrier has about a billion parts, that little metal square they're holding has about 55 billion transistors alone, and that's been doubled about six times since then.

Ruger LC9with extra clip...Most often this is carried in addition to either...
Kimber Custom .45acp with two extra mags, or Glock 19 9mm with two extra mags.
Cell phone

ligher

pipe tool

extra pipe tobacco

Pipe case with extra essentials as well as pipes.

A card carrier with my DL,Conceal carry permit, and debit card.
I have it all worked out where everything can be actually carried on my person with out having to fumble around to get my drivers license or debit card. Very comfortable never leave home with out having any of these. As for the pipe bag it at the very least gets carried to the car and back into house when done.
