I don't know if this was ever a problem for any one else. I recently went through a tin of one of the more popular tobacco companies and found durring the week that about 1/3 of the tin was stems rather than tobacco. Is this common practice and should I contact the distributor or maybe the tobacco company directly with my concern.
I dont think this is common, but I am not paying for flavored twigs. I am paying for tobacco right?

Villager 1888 Mid Day. I have finished several tins of this awsome VA blend and I think this was just a mishap durring packaging. I opened another tin last night and just had 2 stems in the entire tin. I got it through P&C.

I've had a couple tins from Peterson and Mac Baren that had some stems in them. Not nearly a 1/3 of the tin, but a good number of them, maybe a dozen or so. Might wanna give someone a heads up on that one. The worst that could happen is they could tell you you're SOL, the best they could do is offer some tobacco for compensation.

It is common for stems to be added back into certain blends to change the burning characteristics. This is usually done with burley blends IIRC.

From the title, I thought you were sliding your feet in wool socks before you picked up the tobacco.

I've had this happen once. It was a tin I bought from a B&M. They were pretty good about taking it back. I took it that, like the occasional seed in a cigarette, it wasn't the norm and something they didn't want to be known for selling.

I have emailed P&C mostly just to inform them of the quality of the product. I hope this was just an accident from the manufacturer and am sure I will continue further service with P&C as its the only place I can get Cerberus. That is a good english smoke in my oppinion.

I haave had serveral tins of Villager 1888 Mid Day and havent had a stem in any of them. I would call the company and let them know in all reality there is probley a eye that watches for stems and such that could be malfunctioning or something like that.

I spoke to Bob about your problem and he told me that he had already sent a replacement tin to you. You should see it soon.

Sweet thanks Russ. P&C always rocks. I didn't think it was normal and that Villiger should have been made aware. The replacent tin is appreciated though.
