Shipping Tobacco

I think mainly the British guys could only answer this although someone else may know something. I just wanted to ask if shipping tobacco from the States is going to save me money over buying tobacco here, i have heard that you can save a few pounds doing this.Just wanted to know if it was right ?.

A tin on its own is much cheaper in the states. For us you have to factor shipping, the exchange, and customs if they catch it. All in all, I have more tins than I'll ever need but its about 1/4 or1/3 of the price. Can't argue with that.

Thanks guys, i need to pm jay and try and figure out if it's actually gonna save me some cash, what with import taxes and all that i have no idea.

WizHunter,if you're gonna facing to import taxes,then in my humble opinion,price-wise there is no idea doing oversea orders from The U.S,if import taxes applicable Yu ain't gonna save no money.

Yeah i kinda figured that out paulie,i just get jealous of the guys getting tobacco in sacks when i can hardly buy a pouch for the same price

I think its whether you a prepared to take the risk on getting custom duty added.I dont know what percentage of uk imports get stopped and taxed and at what rate.I have read on here of people getting away scot free and also people getting caught for tax at nearly the cost of the shipment.

Another thing is availability,personally if it is available in the uk I would buy it there.

My situation is different as I live in Greece and only very few low quality pipe tobaccos are available so I have to get mine from uk with friends coming on holiday.I have never risked usa as the tax here is about 87% on small amounts and I believe confiscation on larger quantities
