Can’t say I’m a fan, but I respect and love hearing about other people’s fandom. I remember reading somewhere that Holmes fans are considered the original Fanboys and wrote probabaly the first fan fiction. Just need to add a nice Calabash pipe to the collection (yes, I know the original Holmes never smoked a Calabash and it was an addition by some stage actor).

I don’t have any collectibles. But some day, I want to solve a hard problem by staying up all night, sitting atop a pile of five pillows and consuming an ounce of shag.

I’d pick margate.

During the recent 3 year old Dunhill sale at smoking pipes, I was able to snag a tin of 221b Baker Street. It now has a permanent home among my small Sherlock Holmes collection. Thinking of adding a tin of Peterson Sherlock Holmes as well.

Any other Sherlockians have any collectibles to show?
Actually not a bad idea! Not sure if it'll be easier, or harder to convince my wife why I need a pipe to not smoke. ?

I am a member of a few Sherlock Holmes Scion Societies (groups affiliated with The Baker Street Irregulars). Many of these members collect Sherlockiana of all kinds, as do I. Recently, I added a tin of the vintage Peterson's Sherlock Holmes tobacco. One of our Forum advertisers, PipeStud.com, has a couple tins left of this vintage iteration of the tobacco, with unobstructed tin art, on his website (page 10, $35.00).
Here is a photo, from my recent post on the "What are you smoking" thread, showing the tin art.

I'll definitely check for a tin. Thanks!

I'm a big fan of Sherlock and have read most of the books and short stories. Don't have any collectibles to speak of, but an old clay pipe I smoke sometimes with my "Sherlock's shag" blend. Half black stoved red virginia and half black stoved Kentucky. I guess similar to the dark bird's eye blend. Seems like something he would have smoked. Haven't tried any of the Sherlock blends, but I have to say I don't think any of them are something he would have smoked himself as he smoked the strong dark shag of the working class man. But that might be a little hard to market to most folks, myself included. Glad to see some people here taking an interest in Sherlock though, whether it's pipes, tins or whatever tickles your fancy.

I haven't actually tried any of the Sherlock blends either. Just buying to put on the shelf. I definitely don't have to nicotine tolerance of Holmes though. I've never encountered a 3 pipe problem. One usually does the trick.

Closest thing I have is a tin of McClelland’s 221b Black Shag. Nice tobacco. I also have a Peterson 315 XL if that counts, haha. I guess I do also have a tin of the Dunhill 221b as well now that I think about it.
