While researching our government's archives I stumbled on this pipe smoking story.

Gerald Ford and his presidential Counselor Robert Hartmann both smoked pipes.

Here they are smoking in the White House elevator.

I have two Kaywoodie pipes and enjoy PC's Chestnut, a Walnut match, and if I do say so, I voted for President Ford, and have always been glad I did, though I feel Jimmy Carter is among the best ex-Presidents in U.S. history. How's that for bipartisan? (No more of politics, I promise.)
