I made dinner for my smokin' hot chick on Thursday night ...
The Table is Set
dinner-for-two-02.jpg

In the below photo, look to the extreme left. There's her little romantic hand-written note from me telling her how awesome she is.
For appetizers we have; Caponata, Hummus with Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Almonds, Baked Goat Cheese with Pita, and two types of crackers. Also, out of frame, there was Brie Cheese and Maytag Bleu Cheese.
Accompanied by Red Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon.

Below: Main Course
Sauteed Lemon Garlic Chicken over Wild & Brown Rice with Brocoli

Wine Accompaniment: Cline Viognier North Coast 2010

(Greg Pease recommended the Viognier in general)

For Desert - Frangelico and Godiva Chocolate. Simple, but affective.

Looks delicious - even at 8:00 AM :)
Hummus with sun-dried tomatoes sounds like a great start to just about any meal. Did you make the hummus?

Damn, check you out Kevin! You suave son of a gun! Looks like you're off to a really good start. After my lady and I first started dating, I tried my hand at making some pan seared chicken and portabella risotto. I don't normally attempt such a task, but I guess it turned out OK because neither one of us died.

good cook. now that she knows it, you will be spending more time in the kitchen!! I stick to burning kraft dinner and weiners, that way i am seldom allowed in the kitchen. (Can't tell me i'm dumb) lol

It does look great Kevin...

But....

Every-time I hear the word Hummus I think of

That great quote by Charlton Heston in Soilent Green...

"Hummus is people!" :D

Just kidding.

I can't get past the word...

I promise to try it... someday... Maybe... Uh... We'll see. :|

Thanks guys.
Ha ha ha Radio807!
I actually like to cook and do it 4 - 5 nights a week, so it's not really a big deal for me.
However, I only rarely do that type of variety and presentation. That was obviously meant to impress, and it did.
It was the first dinner I made for her, so that is what I'm supposed to do. Since she is such a spectacular woman, it was effortless putting this together. I was motivated, energetic and enthusiastic.

You do know the Maytag Blue goes well with a aged, say Vinegar of Reggio Emilia . I like the silver label paired with pears and sweet white grapes with just a touch of white pepper . Your wine choices were impecable as always . The balsamic ensures the server of the ulitmate ending to the evening . Regards Igloo
