I drink Scotch and Bourbon. Usually drink Scotch during colder weather. That said, I’ve really been enjoying Autumn Evening. Do people switch to other blends when it gets warmer?

I don't over regulate my smoking. Nothing changes as the seasons slip by except, I dress warmer as the temperatures drop. That's the only concession I make. I have a couple of everydy blends, a few for when I want something different, none of which is dependant on the seasons or weather. I keep my smoking as simple as possible. But, I do acknowledge others are wired differently, requiring rules and such. To each his own.

Having started smoking a pipe last fall, I’m not sure. I’ve read many comments on folks smoking more straight Va’s during the summer.
As I live in sunny AZ, I’m curious how much pipe smoking I’ll be doing once the temp is in the triple digits-it may become seasonal altogether.

I feel like the first year I was smoking a pipe I was real concerned with trying to smoke the right tobacco at the right time. Now, I don't care. If it's 85 degrees out and I feel like smoking Westminster, I'm smoking it.

Same @BarrelProof!

I'll pick the blend I want to smoke about 5 minutes before I smoke it, and it's not final until the bowl is lit.

That said, Haunted Bookshop is my 3:00 AM insomniac companion during the summer months. I didn't plan it that way, it just became somewhat of a tradition.

I do, absolutely.

When it's hot out, I definitely gravitate to mostly VaPers. My beloved Burley Blends just seem too heavy to me when it's roasting and humid outside.

I recently tried C&D's Poplar Camp - a VaPer - and while quite good, my immediate reactions was: "...for a hot summer day". Poplar Camp is essentially C&D's Yorktown - a blend of stoved Red and Bright Virginias, which are then restoved - but, Poplar Camp additionally has as a goodly amount of Perique tossed in to supply the nicotine I need.

If you don't require the additional nicotine, you could go with Yorktown on it's own for a delightful hotter weather smoke, if like me, you prefer a lighter smoke when it's hot and humid outside. - Sherm Natman

Ugh, been waking up at 3am the past month (usually 4am). When it warms up I may have to uncellar the HB I bought.

Thank you for the replies. I have a $50 gift card to a store in town that has everything imaginable, including tobacco, pipes and cigars. Might try to find something mostly Va or VaPer. Also might try to put a dent in the bucket of Carter Hall I bought.

I'll smoke anything anytime, depending on mood, but I do like Virginia/oriental blends when it's really hot and humid, and aros or Half&Half around Christmas. English blends can be anytime but are especially nice around a campfire or when the weather is first getting frosty in fall. Cigars are almost entirely a summer evening thing for me.

Edit: Presbyterian for Easter is a personal tradition. puffy

I smoke Autumn Evening all year. I do have a few I try to save for Christmas, fall and spring. They're Christmas Spice, Sutliff Great Value Peach, and Pumpkin Spice. Black X is a great Summer blend to me but I like it too much to save it. English blends feel wintery to me, but again I like them too much as well.
