Searching For Tobacco Pipe Related Topics Seems Challenging These Days

Has anyone else become slightly annoyed when searching around online for either pipes or knowledge about them, only to discover that 95% of all search results pertain to smoking anything other than tobacco? I feel like I'm having to get so specific in my search string every single time:
"I want to find tobacco pipes in which you smoke tobacco."
I feel like just searching like you may have several years ago just doesn't work anymore. All I want to know is a simple answer to a simple question and I can't find it because of having to dig through all the weed sites. Even regular tobacco pipes are used for it, so it makes it difficult to find what I want. Okay, rant off. Time to smoke a bowl of tobacco in a tobacco pipe in which you smoke tobacco, not weed. ::

I make sure to use the word tobacco in all of my searches to help cut down on the amount of garbage but even then it is still an issue.
I think the main problem is that there are far fewer tobacco smokers living in their parent's basement with nothing better to do than clog up the interwebs than there are of the other kind of smokers.

I run into this when searching pipes on kijiji. To paraphrase Obi Won "these aren't the pipes in looking for".

The old investigative reporting adage "follow the money" applies. Weed, vape, and premium cigars are big. But through this site and similar ones, it is noteworthy how much is available on tobacco pipes, especially in light of the fact that it is difficult to spot anyone smoking a pipe anywhere... save a pipe shop, club, or show.

The other herb is in ascendance - we can no longer expect satisfaction from simple searches as tobacco is becoming the outlier.
This is based upon my location and the local rarity of pipe smoking plus past experience with vendors on eBay but I will not buy pipes or tobacco from anyone but a well-respected tobacco etailer like SmokingPipes etc. It is just a more pleasant experience overall. The only exceptions are estate sales or auctions that I could actually attend...

There are about four smoke B&M stores in my city (more actually, but I'm not counting the vaping ones). One of them opened recently, I think last year. I went to check it out. It's a relatively large locale, with several aisles, all full of... glass paraphernalia! I asked them about tobacco pipes and they pointed me to a small glass display case where they had less than 10 briar pipes and nothing but pouches of Borkum Riff (and of these, not more than 10 either). I left immediately, utterly disgusted.
Yeah, on the Internet it isn't much better. Google pipe smoking and most of what you get is weed-related shit and tons of 'smoking kills! stop now!' crap. Sad.

Search on Google enough and Google will "learn" what it is that actually interests you. I just googled pipe smoking and it was all tobacco pipe related. On an image search, pipe smoking brought up a great assortment of images of people smoking tobacco pipes. In time your searches will "weed" out the nonsense.

And that's what scares the ever-loving-shit outta me. Anything smart enough technologically to predict what I'm searching for leads me to truly believe Skynet is just around the corner....

It doesn't take much of an algorithm to "predict" to a somewhat reasonable degree. Unfortunately google has some frustrating algorithms that are geared towards marketing what they want to you instead of what you want. I use a search engine called DuckDuckGo instead of google and I get a lot more of what I want instead of what someone else wants me to get.
