I picked up my third Scott Thile pipe today, a bent egg. The other two I have were discussed here: http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/scott-thile-pipes-amp-pipe-bag.
Some nice grain on this one. Scott is certainly one of my favourite American carvers.

Probably my favorite feature of this shape is Scott's transition from shank to bowl; the "arrow" on the bottom is just so elegant.
I've been thinking about adding a third Thile to my collection as well.

Nicely done, Peck!

I think Scott Thile is my favourite smooth pipe carver. Whenever I look at his smooth pipes, I think I am looking at an S Bang. That said, Michael Parks is working on a two pipe smooth set for me now, so we will have to see how that turns out.

peck, another great looking Thile, I love how he does that shape and will be adding one one day. I am sure it will be a tremendous smoker for you. That grain is amazing and for what he charges for his straight grains, his prices are tough to beat. If that pipe was from a more well know name it would be over a grand for that kind of grain. Congrats on another beauty for the collection.

The pipe arrived today and it looks even better in person than it does in the pics. I am ecstatic. I was quite surprised that the pipe included a rather long note from Scott, about the pipe and other things. Great guy.

I missed this thread the first time around. That is a beautiful piece of work Peck. Congratulations. I will have to keep him in mind for a future pipe acquisition. The bent egg/brandy shape is currently one of my favorites. Well done!
