Interesting to hear the flavor neutrality aspect confirmed.
Also, what kind of morta were you aiming for -- was it a matter of grain, color...? And do you happen to know where this piece came from?

Glad to hear it smokes well for you Roth. I have only smoked one morta pipe (a Moretti) and I did detect a (not unpleasant) smoky flavour for the first dozen bowls, but the thing smokes like a machine - cool and dry and requiring seemingly little in the way of a rest. I am sure your Morta is in a much different price category than my Moretti though - better bog wood may explain the difference.
