This is listed in GBD's 1950 catalogue as a French made pipe that was produced before and after WW2 mainly for the British market. They apparently sold for a shilling apiece so anyone could enjoy a GBD pipe. There are no other markings on it beside the Eagle. It appears in the catalogue as R4701. Actually it's not a bad little pipe. Has some fills and some marks around the rim but hasn't been smoked much. Has the straight stinger. This is probable the British equivalent of the Drugstore pipes of yesteryear. Have never seen one for sale before. Enjoy, Hoppes

Oh Yes, very handsome Old French shape,I have seen similar pipes but under the brand name, Bruleur Morbiand)listed on Ebay by Frech based seller,(Pipes-Estates) those were NOS pipes, and assumably was offered by local tobacconists like basket pipes back in the 60-70ies á Paris-France.

Good choice for those short smokes loaded with strong ribbon or shag cut blends.

Ps.You may wanna take that metal tube off and smoke it without or alternatively replacing it with Denicotea' 3 or 4mm paper filter tube as I do. Best Greets and Congrats on this one.Paul
