I recall his early days in comedy with the 'Comic Strip Presents' series where he never failed to raise a laugh, and who could forget his memorable depiction of Dr. Johnson in Blackadder? A sad day.

Jay.

My wife, who is a major Harry Potter fan, let me know that Robbie Coltrane had passed. I believe he had been battling some form osteo-arthritis for several years. From the interviews that I have watched and read, he appears to have been a very generous person. Sad to think that Hargid has left us.

I wasn't much of a Harry Potter fan until a couple of years ago. We visited the Wizarding World in Florida and I was floored by the immersion. When we got back I decided to read the books and then watch the movies. Robbie did an amazing job of portraying Reubeus Hagrid. It really spoke to how amazing an actor he was, how he could portray everything from a cold hearted villain to a loving, goofy half giant.
