I've got two old estate pipes stamped "Century Old" on them. One is a torpedo or zeppelin shaped pipe and the most recent acquisition is a stubby bulldog. I'm more interested in finding any info on the bulldog. Here are a couple of pictures.
You can see the name, "Morell McKenzie" stamped on it also. It seems he was a famous throat surgeon who died in 1892. I really don't think this pipe is anywhere near that old. From the looks of it stylistically and hardware-wise, I'd guess it to be made in the 1940s or 50s. And there are a lot of Morell McKenzie pipes out there on ebay and etsy so they aren't rare. My Google skills just don't seem to be up to finding any information on them. The circle logo on the stem should be a clue but there were so many companies that used that.
Even if you don't know, I appreciate your taking the time to read this :puffpipe:
I'll be refurbishing this one over the weekend.I like the shape (maybe a crossbred rhodesian?) and look forward to enjoying it soon.
