This will be a shocking question for many of you, but precisely why does a pipe have to "rest" for a day after being smoked for a day? I'm getting an old estate Dunhill in a couple of days and don't want to take a chance and possibly damage it. For right now, I rotate three pipes in a day--a Peterson, a La Rocca, and a Brebbia, depending on my mood.
